ICA Scholarship Application Deadline is March 2

It is not too late to apply for ICA (Indiana Construction Association) Scholarships. Applications for the Building Division – ICA and Highway, Heavy, and Utility Division – ICA Scholarships, valued from $2,000 to $4,000 per year, are due by Friday, March 2.

ICA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS DO NOT REQUIRE DISCLOSURE OF FINANCIAL INFORMATION and are available to anyone meeting the selection criteria and pursuing a construction career in Indiana.

Annual Safety Meeting Dates Announced

The 2012 Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc. Annual Safety Meetings will take place on Monday, March 5 and Tuesday, March 6 at the Santa Claus Methodist Church in Santa Claus, Indiana. Every employee will be required to attend one of the two meetings, featuring important safety topics, insurance and 401k announcements and reviews, company information and news, and as always, a riveting key note speaker. Todd Huston, a dynamic individual who knows how to overcome incredible challenges to live a life of POWER and PASSION will speak to employees about facing difficulties and learning how to overcome them. Cape Sandy Quarry #1 Recognized as 6th Largest in US

The November issue of Rock Products lists Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc. Cape Sandy Quarry #1 as the 6th highest producing single-site quarry in the United States. The list details the top ten and includes interesting facts about each one.

Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc.’s Cape Sandy Quarry #1 is located in Leavenworth, Indiana. The quarry was opened in 1963 and currently has 130 employees.

It takes great communication, dedicated employees and a lot of hard work to operate the 6th highest producing single-site quarry in the United States.

Mulzer Football Frenzy Contest

Jumpstart your excercise and nutrition goals by participating in Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc.’s 4-week Football Frenzy Contest!

Our contest will run from December 18 to January 14 and all employees and their spouses are eligible to particpate.

To participate, you (and your spouse) will need to fill out a registration form (available at your location soon) and return it to work before the program begins on December 18.

To be eligible for the prize drawings, you’ll need to:

Exercise 30 continuous minutes at least 4 days per week (outside of work).
Eat 4 fruits and/or vegetables at least 4 days per week.
Keep your score on the log sheet (to be provided).

Registered participants will also need to turn in their completed log sheets each week. These log sheets will be entered into weekly drawings for five (5) $10 Subway gift cards. These drawings will be held on 12/30/11, 1/6/12, 1/16/12 and 1/20/12.

Prizes for participants will be drawn at the Annual Safety Meeting in March!

Kristi Applegate Joins MCS as Accounts Receivable Manager

Kristi Applegate has been named Accounts Receivable Manager at Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc. Applegate joined MCS in September and will be responsible for overseeing the customer billing process, as well as various A/R duties.
