Once again, from the quarry striping crews to the truck drivers delivering material to our customers, 2011 was a productive and rewarding year. Effective communication and working with one another, makes Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc. (MCSI) and their customers a winning combination.

As 2011 came to an end, INDOT began the process of selecting a Top Large Producer and Top Small Producer from each of the six districts in the state. The winners from each district then compete on the state level to be recognized as the best overall. Some of the basic criteria to be considered for this award are:

1) How well the yearly audits and spot checks went.

2) Quality and consistency of material.

3) The working relationship between MCSI employees and customers (including INDOT).

4) The closed loop system of paperwork from production to the satisfied customer.

According to INDOT – Vincennes District, the MCSI team beat the competition fairly easy. However, which MCSI entity to award was a difficult decision. It came down to which location forgot to dot an “i” or cross a “t”, as well as the sales of CAPP Certified Material.

Congratulations this year goes to the Evansville Re-Distribution Terminal for winning the Top Large Producer of the year for the Vincennes District and I-164 Sand Plant for winning the Top Small Producer of the year award for the Vincennes District. Evansville also won the prestigious award of Top Large Producer in the state of Indiana. A heart felt THANK YOU goes to the ENTIRE Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc. Team, from the production end to the delivery drivers, for making this award possible – again! We have won this award since its introduction in 1996 making 2011 a 16 year sweep.

Other notable award winners include E&B Paving, who used our aggregate from Newburgh, received the Vincennes District Top Asphalt Award for 2011. J.H.
