Matt Bunner Honored with IMAA “President’s Award”

Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc. Safety Manager, Matt Bunner was recently honored by The Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association with the 2010 “President’s Award for Distinguished Service”. Each year the Association undertakes numerous projects and activities for the benefit of its member companies.  This award recognizes outstanding service by an IMAA member who has given their time and talents to spearhead Association projects and activities over the past five years.


IMAA recognized Matt Bunner for outstanding service and efforts to promote the aggregate industry. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a degree in Safety. He has been with Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc. for 11 years and serves as Safety Manager for the company and its subsidiaries. He holds a professional license of Certified Mine Safety Professional. He has also served as a board member and President of both the Audubon chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers and Leadership Spencer County.  He currently serves as the IMAA Safety Committee Chairman. As Safety Chair, he has been proactive when the industry needed it most. His leadership has led to two recent association meetings with top MSHA officials from Washington, a regional seminar series for the IMAA membership with one of the top attorneys defending the aggregates industry and the continued open communications line with district officials of MSHA. Matt has encouraged the sharing of MSHA citation information among industry operators to benefit the entire group.


When not serving in his industry role, Matt is active in his church and helps teach the Royal Rangers Youth Group. He also helps referee and promote Upward Basketball for young kids. He is the proud husband to Melissa and father to Mattison (3) and Molly (2 months).
