Mulzer Participates in Annual New Amsterdam Festival & Gives Back to Local School

Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc. supported the annual New Amsterdam, Indiana Remembrance Day festival in late April with a parade entry, booth with giveaways and kids’ activities as well as tours to our Quarry, located a few miles down the road from the town.  Special events at the festival included the parade, a Western Style gun fight re-enactment, sheep shearing and basket weaving demostrations, as well as lots of wonderful food to eat!  This is the fifth year that Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc. has participated in the festival.

Mulzer employees get ready for the big parade.

Festival visitors sign up for our Free Load of Rock giveaway. It’s always a crowd favorite!

Young visitors make sand art necklaces at our booth.

Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc. brings extra festival t-shirts each year to mark the annual festival, which loyal visitors purchase at cost.  We in turn donate the money we collect back to a local organization.  This year Heth Washington Elementary School located near the town received a $200.00 donation from Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc., the proceeds of our t-shirt sale.

A.J. Renn, supervisor of the New Amsterdam Quarry, presented Heth Washington Elementary school with our donation check.
