This Wednesday (September 9th) Roy Pannell with the Indiana Department of Labor came to Tell City to congratulate Tell City Concrete for qualifying for the INdiana Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program (INSHARP).
The INSHARP program recognizes small employers who work towards exemplary safety and health management systems. Successful companies get recognition from the Indiana Department of Labor and have the potential to be granted up to a two year exemption form IOSHA inspections.
Roy Parnell said, “This is recognition to Management, Owners and Employees that you have an effective Health and Safety Program.” Ashley Frantz with the Indiana Ready Mix Concrete Association said, “We wanted to be sure our members were being proactive in Health and Safety”.
The ceremony recognized Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc. employees Gene Hurm (Safety Professional, left) and Ed Hagerdorn (Manager of Tell City Concrete, right) for their hard work in securing the award.
Ken Mulzer, President of Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc. said, “This confirms that our safety program is where it needs to be. It’s confirmation that we run a safe program. We do want to also recognize the guys who really deserve this award. The guys who are our there now working hard everyday at Tell City Concrete.”
Tell City Mayor Barbara Ewing attended the ceremony and thanked Mulzer Crushed Stone, “On Behalf of the City (of Tell City) we congratulate you for your hard work, both Mulzer Crushed Stone and Tell City Concrete. We appreciate what you do to make a safe work enviroment. We look to Mulzer Crushed Stone and Tell City Concrete as a valuable member of our community.”
